Motorsport history:
John started in motorsport in 1983 and has competed at state and national level in a variety of categories. He won the 1989 Toyota/Modern MOTOR competition ‘Search For A Champion’ and went on to win nine state and three Australian championships in Motorkhanas. As well as winning three state khanacross rally sprint championships, one of John’s highlights was being crowned the 2008 Superlap Champion. He also works in driver training and is a test driver for leading motoring publications Wheels, Motor and Tarmac Magazine.
Favourite part of being a V6 HiLux Heroes driver:
“Showing the public around Australia how good the HiLux is and what the vehicle is capable of doing on a range of surfaces. I also love talking to the people we meet at the shows.”
Favourite stunt during the show:
“What is there not to like about the show! Every stunt is different and every show is different.”
Interests:
DJ at events and on radio, mountain bike riding, playing tennis, house renovations and taking long walks on the beach!
